EQUINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY(EAP) also referred to as counselling and EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING (EAL)
- EQUINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY(EAP) is a professional, innovative and experiential approach to counselling, psychotherapy and mental health that supports clients of all ages in addressing therapeutic goals (emotional cognitive, behavioral, relationship and mental health conditions), with horses as assistants, support and co-facilitators in this process. EAP is offered by registered Counsellors, Psychotherapist, or registered mental health practitioners, such as Social Workers and Psychologists.
- EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING (EAL) EAL is an innovative form of experiential learning – where clients develop new insight and learn new skills via relational experiences with horses. EAL can assist in personal development, professional development and developing leadership skills in teams and individuals. EAL is a fast-growing modality across Australia as well as internationally. National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) clients benefit greatly from EAL services as do children and adolescent I work as a Mental Health Support Worker with many years of lived experience as a family support involving, Eating Disorders and Addiction. I have lived and worked in England and currently live in Western Australia. Horses have always been an important part of my life, professionally and personally, allowing me the opportunity to blend my
love for these incredible animals with an aspect of my life that is deeply meaningful to me.

It may not always be possible to accommodate clients with some physical disabilities. This is due to the nature of working with horses and risk involved due to their nature and the constraints of the environment that we work in.
Equine Assisted Learning and or counselling/psychotherapy can complement other forms of professional services as well as being a standalone approach in many areas of self-development. If at any time the service that I am providing moves outside of my area of qualification or skills I will recommend a referral to an appropriate professional body more suited to the clients’ individual needs.

Due to the environment that horses are kept in or at, there may be unforeseen areas of privacy and confidentiality that could be compromised. Although due care will be taken to give clients these considerations, it is important that clients are aware that there is this possibility

Card payment is available and is the preferred method of payment by direct bank transfer.
Cash is accepted, but limited change is available, therefore it would be ideal to bring the exact amount. If you are booking a group or would like to pay in advance for your sessions, you can be issued with an invoice with the details for a bank transfer.
I do not currently offer payment plans, but I do offer some sessions priced at a concession rate, please contact me to discuss further.

Appointment Policies
Individual Sessions
I understand that things pop up and emergencies happen, if the cancelation is made at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment there is no charge. If canceled with less than 24hrs to the scheduled appointment there is a cancelation fee of $40 or a reschedule. Missed appointments incur the full fee. If for some reason I am unable to make the scheduled appointment, I will seek to give you as much notice as possible and offer you a choice to reschedule or a full refund if payment has already been made. You must pay for services you ve received under a service contract that worked as expected or fulfilled their intended purpose (eg. initial assessment session to ascertain if Horse Assisted Healing is the right service for you) Services that you cannot cancel and get a refund for,

You failed to clearly explain your needs to the provider Group Programs & Sessions
I understand that things pop up and emergencies happen, if you need to cancel a complete group booking outside of 4 weeks before its commencement you will be offered a refund of half of the 50% deposit, if the cancelation is within 4 weeks before the group commences you will forfeit your deposit, unless we reach another arrangement. If you need to cancel a group session, I ask that you seek to give me as much notice as possible. Once a deposit has been paid you will not be entitled to a refund for the group session that you are cancelling. I reserve the right to cancel a group session if on the day you do not meet the conditions of our agreement. If for some reason I need to cancel a complete group booking I will seek to give you as much notice as possible and offer you a choice to reschedule or a full refund if payment has already been received. If for some reasons I need to cancel an individual group session, I will again seek to give you as much notice as possible and offer you a choice to reschedule or offer a refund for that session. I would ask that you offer me that same understanding and compassion that I offer you in understand that things pop up and emergencies happen, and understand that this service is owned and operated by an individual person. Services that you cannot cancel and get a refund for;
If the problem was outside of the control of the provider your change of mind
you insisted on having a service provided in a particular way, against the providers advice
you failed to clearly explain your needs to the provider your participants fail to attend

Despite our every best effort there are many areas that are out of human control, such as the weather and illness of people and horses. Different circumstance will require different responses. It is always my first intention to have a conversation to discuss the situation and to find a mutually acceptable alternative
If you feel that there is any problem with my services, please let me know within 24 hours. I am keen to understand what has gone wrong if you are unhappy so that I can address your concerns and try to find a mutually acceptable solution
I take my obligations under Australian Consumer Law seriously and will do my best to address any issues that arise. However, even if there is a major problem, my liability is strictly limited to: – replacing the goods or providing the services again.
Respectful Communication
I reserve the right to delete any comments on my website or social media accounts which is rude, offensive or which I deem to be unacceptable. Keep it polite and play nicely, please.
Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution
If you have any concerns, issues or complaints arising out of your use of this website, my products or services, or these terms and conditions, you agree to communicate with me with the intention of making a genuine effort to seek a win/win solution, and trying to resolve the dispute through negotiation and discussion.
“If we are unable to resolve a dispute by negotiation and discussion within 14 days, we agree to proceed to mediation with the assistance of an independent accredited mediator, seeking online dispute resolution or mediation by telephone if we are not both in western Australia, Australia. The mediator is to be appointed by agreement between us or, failing agreement within twenty-one (21) days of the first notification of the dispute, the person initiating the dispute will seek the appointment of a dispute resolution professional by the Resolution Institute: https://www.resolution.institute/resolving-disputes/get-a-professional. The Resolution Institute Mediation Rules shall apply to the mediation and we agree to share the costs of mediation equally between us.
We agree that neither of us will commence legal action until, in the opinion of the independent mediator, the potential for negotiation and mediation have been exhausted.
